Not yet. tunejar is for homes and private gatherings only. Spotify's terms permit personal, non-commercial use — playing Spotify in a commercial or public venue isn't allowed. If you run a licensed venue, a separate commercial version (built on a music service made for businesses) is on our roadmap — get in touch and we'll let you know when it's ready.
Yes. Your own Spotify account must be Premium and must have an active device playing (your speakers/computer at home). tunejar adds to and reads that queue via Spotify's API.
No. Guests only search and request through your request page. They create a quick, free requester account (email + password) so you can block abuse and so they can see what they've requested — or you can turn on anonymous requests so they only need to type a name.
Bringing your own Spotify app keeps your setup independent and within Spotify's per-app limits, and means playback runs entirely under your own credentials. Setup walks you through creating the app and pasting in two values — it takes a couple of minutes.
In approval mode every request waits for your tap before it hits the queue. In direct mode requests go straight into Spotify's queue. You can switch anytime from the control panel.
Spotify's API can't delete a specific queued song — only skip the current track. In approval mode you simply don't approve it; in direct mode you can skip past the one playing.
Yes — open the display in kiosk mode for an on-screen keyboard, ideal for a tablet or Raspberry Pi touchscreen by the bar. Turn on anonymous requests so guests can add songs with just a name.
